  • Apply a thin coat of ULTRA using a good quality roller

  • Leave for 10 minutes

  • Slow buff with a soft pad to remove excess

  • Finish using a lint-free cloth under the buffer

  • Leave for 45 minutes to dry with good ventilation

  • Apply the final coat with a high-quality microfibre roller - do not buff this coat as there won’t be enough product left on the timber to protect properly

  • Apply the second coat using a good quality brush or roller

Tips

  • DO not apply the product too thickly as drying time will be significantly increased. The best conditions for drying are to raise the room temperature and increase the airflow using windows, a fan or opening a door.

  • We stock great-quality Treatex brushes and rollers for use. alternatively use a high-quality microfibre roller or brush.

  • Wrap a plastic bag around wet rollers and brushes to prevent them from drying out between coats.

  • Treatex Thinners or white spirit are the best way to clean wet brushes and rollers.

Self combustion

  • Treatex contains Linseed oil just like other natural oil-based products. You should therefore empty the sawdust out of your mechanical sander before working with anything that has a freshly applied linseed oil-based product. This is because there is a small but possible risk of self-combustion.
