Grey Cedar Oil
Treatex Grey Cedar Oil penetrates deeply into timber surfaces and in a similar way to bark, attaches to the wood capillaries providing protection against extreme climate conditions.
Treatex Grey Cedar Oil will immediately enhance the colour of Cedar to achieve the naturally greyed effect that comes with age, whilst still protecting and allowing the timber to mature. This can be maintained through future applications of Grey Cedar Oil or be left to mature naturally over time as required.

Preparation/Application
Preparation
Treatex Grey Cedar Oil works best on unfinished timber. Previous finishes which stop Grey Cedar Oil penetrating into the timber (e.g. paint and other ‘closed’ finishes) must be fully removed prior to application. Previous porous finishes should be lightly sanded before overcoating. When overcoating a previously finished surface, a trial application is essential. Flaking or peeling finishes must be fully removed prior to application. Ensure the timber is dry and free from possible contaminates e.g. algae, grease, dirt, dust etc. Timbers susceptible to decay, mould and fungi should be treated first with a suitable preservative. We advise that when using Grey Cedar Oil, sufficient product is purchased to complete the whole project and when more than one tin is required it is advisable to mix them together before use. Timber must have a moisture content below 18%. Temperature must be between 8º𝖼 and 25º𝖼 during application and drying. We strongly recommend a trial application prior to starting the project.
Application
Stir tins thoroughly, before and during use. Use a brush or roller to evenly apply Treatex Grey Cedar Oil in the same direction as the wood grain. Pay particular attention to end grain, on end grain apply liberally. After approximately 12 hours the first coat can be overcoated. Apply with a brush or roller a second coat of Treatex Cedar Oil. After the second coat leave for approximately 12 hours to dry. Treatex Grey Cedar Oil is not a surface building product.
